Spectacular Scenic Rim!

Ever wondered what’s out there in those mountains as you’re driving up Cunningham’s Gap?
We went exploring over the Easter long weekend…

How to…

Starting point: Spicers Gap, Governors Chair carpark. There’s about 10km of gravel road to get there, but a 2WD will make it!
Distance: Spicers Peak is a great day trip if you like heights and go in a group! It’s 6km return, allow 4 to 5 hours. You can hike further south along the ridge to turn it into an overnight trip – including hiking all all the way to Teviots and even onto Coolongatta! But the terrain is tough with lots of bush-bashing, no trails and limited water.
Notes: Even for Spicers Peak, directions or maps are definitely required – eg Take a Walk in South-East Queensland book and the Viewranger or Wikiloc app.
